As a Mid Century Modern style designer, Travis Smith is best known for his work in Washington, DC area nightclubs and restaurants. He has designed and furnished the retro themed "Bedrock Billiards", "CarPool", "Aroma", and "Atomic Billiards": www.bedrockbars.com

He is also the creative force behind the "Buffalo Billiards" clubs in Dupont Circle, DC; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; and Philadelphia, PA. The award-winning "Evening Star Cafe" in Alexandria, VA is one of his well known restaurant projects.

A collaboration with partner Skip Przywara, Continental modern pool lounge in Rosslyn, Virginia, was named "the most imaginative [billiard] room in the country" by
USA Today.

In addition to his commercial designs, Travis' influence can be seen in many homes in the Washington Metro area. His interiors are eclectic and creative, mixing sophisticated mid-century furnishings with unique found objects. Now residing in his home city of Phoenix, Arizona, Travis often uses his childhood experiences in the Southwest as inspiration. The result is an earthy, rustic element combined with Mid Century Modern designs.

Travis originally opened Good Eye in 1997, after nearly a decade of retailing vintage furnishings in DC. The name of the store - "Good Eye" - refers to a natural aesthetic talent. Over the years, Travis has developed this talent and uses it for finding, collecting, and creating.

In early 2007, Travis "passed the torch" to new owner of Good Eye, Steve Cheek. Now celebrating its tenth year, Good Eye has become a favorite for collectors, decorators, Modern enthusiasts, and everyday shoppers looking for unique home furnishings.
